Tina is the ex Design Editor for The News in Portsmouth. She says: “Moving to Figheldean 12 years ago was a huge change of pace for me. I love it here, it’s such a wonderful community and I enjoy the challenges that leading the PC brings.” Tina also co-organises Figgle Fest.

Darrell Amison
Lead Responsibilities: Police, Neighbourhood Watch, Emergency Services and DIO liaison. River Avon.
Darrell moved to Figheldean in 2015 having previously lived in Larkhill and Durrington. His interests are sports, history and conservation. He’s a member of the RSPB and the Services Dry Fly Fishing Association – “Time spent immersed in the beauty of the River Avon is a great joy.”

Angela Briggs
Lead Responsibilities: Highways and Transport.
Ange moved to Figheldean in 2019 with her husband Simon after living around the area for 5 years. She is a trained Physio and her interests are horse riding and foreign travel, she often combines the two. Ange joined the Parish Council in July 2023.

Rev Mark Christian
Lead Responsibilities: Planning and Playground
Mark moved to Figheldean in 2023 on retirement. He was a vicar in North West Hampshire before this. He volunteers for the Samaritans in Salisbury and for the National Trust and says “Figheldean is the place I intend to live the rest of my life and being a Parish Councillor is one way I can give back to the community that sustains me”

Marianne (Mazz) Blake
Lead Responsibilities: Playground, Playing Field and Multi-court.
Mazz moved to the village in 2020. She is a member of the Village Hall Committee, and Figheldean Village Events Committee. Mazz has been a child care social worker for over 20 years, working with child protection and looked after children, and has a keen interest in gardening and looking after animals.

Gary Helawell
Lead Responsibilities: TBC
Gary moved to the village in 2000 and both his children attended the village Primary School before moving on. Originally from Yorkshire, Gary is proud of his roots but appreciates the welcoming atmosphere of village life. Having now retired from working in infrastructure and defence projects he now feels is the right time for him make an active contribution to the village and support the efforts of the Parish Council. He enjoys painting, and is a member Devizes Canoe Club.

Lead Responsibilities: Media and Communications.
Rachel has lived in Figheldean since 2013 and thoroughly enjoys the spirit of community that we are lucky to benefit from in Figheldean. Rachel is also Secretary of Figheldean Working Men’s Club and a member of the Figheldean Village Events Committee. During the day Rachel also works as an Assistant Head with responsibility for Operations and HR at a local Secondary School.

The current Wiltshire Councillor for our ward is Ian Blair-Pilling.
